Background of the Blue Lotus of Sri Lanka – The blue lotus, scientifically known as Nymphaea caerulea, is a water lily species native to Sri Lanka and other parts of Asia. In Sri Lanka, it’s a revered national flower, known as “nil manel” and is deeply integrated into the country’s culture and traditions. It’s found in many lakes and waterways throughout Sri Lanka, thriving in the tropical climate.
Benefits – Blue lotus flower is an Egyptian water lily that may promote sleep, reduce anxiety, improve sexual function, and address mental health conditions. There is not enough evidence to support these benefits, so more research is needed.
Production – Most of the harvest is done in tanks in arid regions. We travel to the lake by boat and harvest these flowers. After the flowers are harvested, they are brought to our factory. After the flowers are thoroughly cleaned, they are systematically placing into dehydrate machines trays. Blue Lotus flowers should be dehydrated for 12 – 14 hours under a low temperature environment. Once the dehydration is complete, these flowers bundles are carefully packaged.
